MYSPACE
Fan Death
Post-disco female duo with some catchy chops & hip pals (Erol Alkan remixed their single “Veronica’s Veil”). Their tunes draw from New Order & Studio 51, often aligning their sound with the Italians Do It Better camp from Portland. Another dance party.
MYSPACE
Flash Lightnin’
Toronto power trio that’s been blowing audiences away with their brand of bluesey-cockrock. Blazing leads & hooks galore litter Flash Lightnin’ shows. To give you an idea of what to expect: they’ve been opening for Eagles Of Death Metal for the last couple months!

Hey Rosetta
New Foundlaners meld the bombast of Britpop with the modern sincerity of Canada’s most recent wave of indie-upstarts into something beautiful & often epic. Their most recent album, Into Your Lungs, is chock full of orchestral, anthemic jams.
MYSPACE
Jets Overhead
Juno nominees Jets Overhead just released their new album, No Nations. Fueled by their classic Brit-pop influenced sound, it’s another notch on the belt of this tried & tested Canadian band.
MYSPACE
LongWalkShortDock
LWSD aka Dave King is an absolute barnstormer live; he performs his own brand of hyper-heavy bass-rumbling 8-bit-influenced electronic dance music, a hybrid of electro, dubstep & breaks that occasionally sleeps with heavy metal & industrial. You will not stand still at this show. He will kill you with Techno!
MYSPACE
My!Gay!Husband!
1/3 of Vancouver’s infamous 1/2 Alive DJ machine, MGH is a party unto himself. Electro, disco, exclusive remixes & edits, synth pop & a sliver of cheese will no doubt lubricate one of your most enjoyable dancefloor experiences in a while. MYSPACE
Neoteric
Vancouver’s Neoteric is about as versatile as Djs come; dubstep, electro, house, B-More, indie-bangers, hiphop – you name it, Neoteric can rock a party out with it. Along with U-Tern, he makes up Smoke & Mirrors, who are signed to Dubsided, the label run by Switch (Diplo’s pal, who co-produces M.I.A.). Neoteric is a qualified party machine.

Our Book & The Authors
Montreal duo Our Book & The Authors’ gothic cabaret pop stylings draw many comparisons with Rufus Wainwright’s dramatic flare. Picture that mixed with the stylings of Spoon & Postal Service & you’ll get a good idea of what to expect.
MYSPACE
The Pack A.D.
East Van’s no-shit female duo that will seriously rock your balls off. A pumped-up blitz of garage, blues, thrash & swagger fuel a live show that is not to be missed. (check the funny vid below)
MYSPACE
Said The Whale
Said The Whale’s music is witty & smart, artful & soulful. They are the sound of Vancouver’s perpetually grey skies, snow topped mountains & the Lion’s Gate Bridge. One part Brian Wilson, one part Shins, with a dash of Decemberist-dust.
MYSPACE
Shad
Kenyan-born Shadrach Kabango was raised in London, Ontario. Last year’s breakout album The Old Prince featured Shad’s introspective & deprecating lyrics over early-90’s influenced head-nod beats. His show earlier this year at Lucky Bar was apparently off the chain. Don’t miss out. MYSPACE
Timber Timbre
Timber Timbre is the moniker used for Taylor Kirk’s musical endeavors. After stirring up quite a fever in Toronto & Montreal, TT was signed to the esteemed Arts & Crafts label (Broken Social Scene, Feist, Stars) & released a self titled semi-debut (there’ve been previous releases on Out Of This Spark). TT’s sound is a mix of bedroom musty blues with darker, looming cinematics, often recalling M. Ward.
MYSPACE
Twin Crystals
Vancouver’s shit-hot post-punk/no wave/noise band. These guys are tied in with the Emergency Room DIY scene in Vancouver; totally unhinged at times, this show will be loud & chaotic; get in there!
MYSPACE
Woodpigeon
Woodpigeon seemed poised for bigger things over the next few years. Their sweeping take on indie-pop-folk shone brightly on their Polaris Prize nominated Treasury Library Canada. Found sounds, handclaps, whistling, you name it, it’s going on…
